Dr. Chad Meister is a Professor of Philosophy and Theology at Bethel and the author of the book Evil: A Guide for the Perplexed, Second Edition. He spends most of his free time hanging out with family, friends, and students (usually with lots of coffee in hand). He has written or edited over thirty books, most of them about God, the Christian faith or the problem of evil. In 2015, he spent a sabbatical in England as a Research Fellow at the Universities of Oxford and Birmingham. Chad is married to Tammi and they have two teenage sons, Justin and Joshua.

Katelyn Beaty is the author of A Woman’s Place and an editor at large with Christianity Today, where she previously served as the magazine’s youngest and first female managing editor. An Ohio native and a graduate of Calvin College, Kaitlyn studied theology at the University of Oxford. She has written for several mainstream media outlets about faith and culture. This spring Kaitlyn will serve as Bethel’s commencement speaker.
